Indications have emerged that intense pressure is being mounted on selected prominent Northern delegates to adopt a new constitution at the conference.
A delegate at the National Conference Senator Sa’idu Musa Dansadau has called for the establishment of a body that will protect female divorces and their children in northern Nigeria.
The National Conference yesterday resolved that the practice of plea bargain should be abolished, saying it breeds corruption.
Conference also decided that the Federal Government should put into effective use, the National Policy on Women adopted in 2004 which was replaced with the National Gender Policy in 2006.
Delegates also asked government to ensure level playing ground for the independent power producers and other genuine investors in the power business.
The committee also wants the Federal Account Allocation Commission (FAAC) which sits monthly to meet weekly.
