Ghana's parliament passed a new law that gives the president the power to order such lockdown.
“Lockdown is a must now. Only medical facilities should be opened," a Twitter user said.
At its maiden fact-checking training in Ghana, the organisation trained media practitioners on how to conduct a full-fledged fact-checking exercise.
“All our borders, that is, by land, sea and air, will be closed to human traffic," the Ghanaian president said.
The president further directed that all schools, including universities and basic schools, be closed down from Monday.
The two are the first confirmed cases of the COVID-19 in Ghana after some 57 suspected cases previously tested negative.
This is the third time such an incident is happening at the same venue in Ghana.
