The House suspended Mr. Jibrin for 180 legislative days September last year but is still unable to resume.
He scored 2,000 of the total 2,296 votes cast.
The former chairman of House Appropriation Committee was suspended by his colleagues for 180 legislative days.
“Practically, it is going to be impossible to have our national convention before August 16,” the opposition party said.
