Nonye Soludo, wife of Governor Charles Soludo of Anambra State has condemned the assault and stripping of the female member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) by vigilante operatives in the state.
The assault, stripping
PREMIUM TIMES earlier reported that the NYSC member, Jennifer Elobor, was assaulted and stripped by operatives of Agunechemba Vigilante Group in the state.
The incident occurred on 23 July 2025 in Oba, a community in Idemili South Local Government Area of the state.
The clip, however, went viral on Monday after the Haven 360 Foundation uploaded it on their Facebook page.

Authorities later said the vigilante operatives involved in the assault had been identified and arrested.
‘It’s very disturbing’
In a post on her Facebook page on Tuesday, Mrs Soludo said there was no justification “for such an ugly and humiliating abuse.”
She argued that such a “demeaning approach” to law and order was alien to the identity of Anambra State and its government.
“There are always rules of engagement in such situations, and they must prioritise dignity, civility, and respect.
“I find the Oba incident very disturbing and appeal to appropriate authorities that are already looking into it to take critical measures to not only entrench justice but to, most importantly, ensure that we do not see such a worrisome scene ever again,” she said.
‘It’s unacceptable and dehumanising’— NYSC
The management of the NYSC has expressed sadness over the incident.
In a statement posted on Facebook on Wednesday, the NYSC spokesperson, Caroline Embu, said authorities of the scheme have condemned “the unacceptable and dehumanising manner” in which the operatives conducted their operations.
“While appreciating the concern of the general public over this horrific incident, as well as the initial measures taken by the Anambra State Government, Management wishes to assure the general public that it believes in, and supports the ongoing investigation by the Nigeria Police Force towards unravelling what transpired.

“This we trust will help get justice for the corps member in question and any other aggrieved party,” she said.
Ms Embu stressed that necessary administrative procedures were underway to assist the assaulted corps member to manage the physiological and psychological trauma resulting from the incident.
“Management wishes to use this medium to restate its strong commitment to the welfare and security of corps members nationwide,” she added.
