The Nigerian winger was forced to sit out Fulham’s impressive 3–1 away win over Sunderland last weekend after picking up an injury in training during the week. His absence was felt, but the Cottagers still found a way to maintain momentum at the Stadium of Light.

Speaking ahead of the Spurs encounter, Silva offered a cautiously optimistic assessment of his squad, with Chukwueze firmly back in the picture.

“Saša (Lukić), (Samuel) Chukwueze and the others have been in and out of contention,” Silva said via Fulham’s official channels. “But they’ve had a good week. (Antonee) Robinson is back in sessions with the team.”

The Fulham boss, however, stressed that no risks will be taken, explaining that final decisions will only be made after the team’s next training session.

“We have another session, and we’re going to make a decision after that,” he added.

Chukwueze’s possible return comes at a crucial moment for Fulham. The winger, who joined the club on loan from AC Milan in the summer, has quietly rebuilt his reputation after two difficult seasons blighted by inconsistency and limited opportunities.

This campaign, he has looked reborn. In just 13 Premier League appearances, the Super Eagles star has already contributed three goals and four assists, injecting pace, directness and unpredictability into Fulham’s attack. His form has made him one of Silva’s most potent attacking weapons and a key outlet in transition.

With Fulham looking to build on their recent victory and test themselves against quality opposition, Chukwueze’s availability could prove decisive. For Silva, it is about balance; managing fitness while keeping his side competitive. For Chukwueze, it is another opportunity to underline that his resurgence in England is no fluke.
