The National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB) has released the results of its 2025 June/July National Business Certificate (NBC) and National Technical Certificate (NTC) examinations.
The Registrar of NABTEB, Mohammed Aminu, announced the release in Abuja on Thursday.

Mr Aminu also announced the commencement of registration for private candidates for the 2025 November/December examinations.
He said 92,875 candidates registered for the examinations in 1,892 centres, out of which 89,621 candidates (96.50 per cent) sat the examinations and were graded.

This is 37 per cent higher than last year’s enrolments, which were 67,751 candidates in 1,708 centres.
While 57,651 (62.07 per cent) are male candidates, the remaining 35,224 (37.93 per cent) are female candidates.
The NABTEB examinations were conducted nationwide from Monday, 16 June to Thursday, 17 July.
Pass rate, Malpractice
According to Mr Aminu, 61,104 candidates representing 68.18 per cent of candidates who sat the examinations secured five credits and above, including English Language and Mathematics.
He said 74,633 (83.28 per cent) obtained five credits and above with or without English Language and Mathematics.
He explained that 79,575 (93.10 per cent) of candidates who sat the English Language examination had at least a credit, while 5,901 (6.90 per cent) failed.
For mathematics, he said 81,172 (94.60 per cent) of candidates passed and 4,633 (5.40 per cent) failed the subject.
The NABTEB Registrar also disclosed that 435 (0.47 per cent) candidates were involved in examination malpractices in 516 incidents recorded.
Compared to 2024
The 2025 results are comparatively better than those of 2024, he said.
In the 2024 June/July examinations, 44,000 candidates representing 65.34 per cent scored five credits and above, including English Language and Mathematics, and 62,235 candidates, representing 92.42 per cent, obtained five credits and above with or without English Language and Mathematics.
This year, more candidates passed Mathematics than English Language compared to last year’s figure. Last year, 63,866 (95.87 per cent) passed English Language and 2,753 (4.13 per cent) failed the subject. In mathematics, 60,849 (91.39 per cent) passed while 5,738 (8.61 per cent) failed.

For examination malpractice, this year’s figure –435–is higher in nominal figures –349 for 2024– but lower percentagewise at 0.47 per cent when compared to last year’s 0.52 per cent.
“This is a decrease in the incidence of examination malpractices as recorded in this year 2025 June/July NBC/NTC examinations,” Mr Aminu said.
