The family of veteran journalist and publisher of The Eagle Online, Dotun Oladipo, has announced 10 and 11 September for his funeral rites.
Mr Oladipo died on Tuesday in Lagos at the age of 56.

According to a statement issued by the Guild of Corporate Online Publishers (GOCOP) on Friday, a service of songs will be held at Daystar Church, Oregun, Ikeja, on Thursday, 10 September.
His burial service will take place at the same venue on Friday, 11 September, followed by his interment.

Mr Oladipo was president of GOCOP from 2017 to 2021 and was among the publishers who helped build the organisation during its formative years.
GOCOP President Danlami Nmodu said the late publisher made significant contributions to the development of online publishing in Nigeria.
“Dotun played an important role in the development of GOCOP. He led the Guild for four years at a time when there was still a lot of work to be done to establish online publishers as an important part of the media. His contribution will always be remembered,” Mr Nmodu said.
He said Mr Oladipo brought his experience in journalism and publishing to the leadership of the guild.
“Dotun understood journalism and he understood the business of publishing. He was passionate about the place of online media in Nigeria and he gave his time to the growth of the Guild. We are saddened by his passing,” he said.

Mr Oladipo began his journalism career in the traditional media before moving into online publishing and establishing The Eagle Online.
He was also a member of the Nigerian Guild of Editors and the International Press Institute (IPI) Nigeria.
His death has attracted tributes from media organisations, colleagues and associates who have highlighted his contributions to journalism and the development of Nigeria’s online publishing industry.
