Weeks after announcing her graduation from a discipleship class at Streams of Joy International, the church led by Pastor Jerry Eze, Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh has conducted what may be her first deliverance service.
In February, the actress shared a video on her Instagram page displaying her discipleship certificate and speaking about what she described as a profound spiritual rebirth that has reshaped her outlook on life, faith, and service.

On Monday, the actress further cemented her discipleship by announcing that she no longer goes by the name King Tonto.
Tonto, 40, said that she was making the declaration in obedience to the Holy Spirit.

“It gladdens my heart that I can do this on the first day of March; it just aligns with the prophecy of God upon my life that He’s marching me away from everything that is old and into the prophecies that are new every morning,” she said.
A glimpse of the ministry
In a show of her ‘spiritual prowess’, the actress delivered a schoolgirl from what she called a demonic attack.
According to Tonto, the act was God allowing her to glimpse the ministry He has placed in her life.
“I was delivered from the marine world so that I may become an instrument in His hands to deliver others.
“As we were driving out after our evangelism at the school today, I suddenly sensed a spirit of death hovering around the environment. I immediately shared this with my team, and we began to pray. In less than two minutes, a young girl ran up to me and asked me to pray for her. Her friends encouraged her to speak, and she shared that she had been seeing bats appearing around her repeatedly,” she wrote on Instagram.
Death confronted
Narrating the event, she said that when she and her team began praying, the Holy Spirit took over, and the presence and glory of God filled the moment.
“The spirit of death was confronted, the demonic attack was broken, and God’s power brought deliverance. To the glory of God, she was also one of the students who had given their lives to Christ earlier, making the work of God even more powerful and timely. My team and I will be following up with her as the Lord continues His work in her life,” she added.
Deliverance
She accompanied the post with videos of herself praying for a teenage girl in a public school uniform.
As the prayer progressed, the young girl broke into a trance and had to be restrained by members of Tonto’s team.
“All we can say is: Thank You, Lord Jesus, for everything You did today.
Over 100 young champions gave their lives to Christ. God is reclaiming what belongs to Him, ‘THE WORLD’,” she wrote.
Possible infraction
While many were excited for Tonto and the new direction her life is taking, it is hard to miss the legal implications of unauthorised recording of a minor.
Section 37 of the 1999 Constitution protects children from unauthorised recording.
Section 8 of the Child Rights Act also guarantees a child’s right to privacy, including in digital spaces.
By implication, recording, sharing, or publishing a child’s image/video without parental consent, especially if it compromises their safety or reputation, can violate the Cybercrimes Act, 2015.
