The stakes could not be higher as Nigeria’s home-based Super Eagles face Sudan in their second Group D match of the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN), co-hosted by Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda.
After a narrow 1-0 loss to Senegal in their opener, Éric Chelle’s men know that anything less than victory tonight will leave their quarter-final hopes hanging by a thread.
With the 1-1 draw recorded on Tuesday, Senegal are still maintaining their lead in Group D with four points, while Congo, with their second consecutive 1-1 draw, are second on the log with two points.
Sudan, with the point from their first match, go into the game against Nigeria in third position.

A win for Nigeria would hand them a crucial three points, put them back in contention, and set up a final-day showdown against Congo.
For Sudan, victory would push them to four points and virtually guarantee progression. A draw would keep their campaign on track.
