The management of veteran Fuji musician Kollington Ayinla has denied reports circulating online claiming that the singer has died.
According to Tribune Online, the denial was contained in a statement issued on Saturday and signed by Shamsudeen Ilori on behalf of the family and the HSKA Foundation.

The statement described the reports as false, malicious and misleading.
“Our attention has been drawn to a malicious and unfounded rumour circulating all over the internet claiming that Kollington Ayinla Fuji Authority has passed away,” the statement said.

The management maintained that the veteran musician, popularly known as Kebe-n-Kwara, is alive and in good health.
“Alhaji Kollington Ayinla is alive, well and in good health. Baba is currently enjoying himself, surrounded by family and close associates,” the statement added.
Rumours
According to the statement, the rumour was fabricated by individuals seeking attention and online traffic.
The management also urged the public to verify information before sharing it and warned against spreading unconfirmed reports on social media.

“Spreading false death news is not content — it’s wickedness,” the statement said.
The statement further warned that those found to have created or deliberately spread the false report could face legal consequences.
This is not the first time the veteran Fuji musician has been forced to deny reports of his death.
In 2024, he publicly dismissed a similar rumour while receiving treatment at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) following a health challenge.
Born Abdulrasaq Kolawole Ilori, Kollington Ayinla is regarded as one of the pioneers of Fuji music and remains one of the genre’s most influential figures.
