Nollywood actor Frederick Leonard has petitioned the Delta State Police Command against his colleague, Stanley “Stanley Ontop” Ajemba, over alleged defamation and libellous statements.
Leonard, through his lawyer, Ogochukwu Emodi of Uche Okoro & Co., submitted the petition and posted a copy on his Instagram page on Monday.
PREMIUM TIMES learnt that in 2025, Stanley Ontop accused Leonard of mistreating a crew member.
He also alleged that Leonard had warned a film producer against casting him in the same project.

He further alleged that Leonard regarded himself as the “most handsome” and the “god of Nollywood”, and accused him of promiscuity.
Petition
In the petition, however, Leonard maintained that Stanley Ontop had, without provocation, persistently defamed his character and reputation for more than two years.
The petition read in part: “It is our brief that the said Mr Stanley Chibueze Ajemba has made several unfounded allegations that seriously undermine our client’s integrity to the point of causing our client profound loss of earnings if left unchecked, and if he doesn’t correct and take down those negative impressions, he has been feeding the public with.
Consequent upon the foregoing acts of defamation of our client’s character and the many libellous statements made against him at various times for no justifiable reasons whatsoever by Mr Stanley Chibueze Ajemba. These actions constitute a violation of our client’s right not to be slandered or libelled, as enshrined in the Criminal Code Act (applicable in Southern Nigeria), sections 373-381, which defines and provides punishments for such defamations.
Demands
Furthermore, Leonard called on the police to carry out an independent and comprehensive investigation into the allegations of libel and defamation levelled against him.
He also urged the authorities to immediately invite Stanley Ontop for questioning over violations of his fundamental rights.
Leonard further warned that he would pursue legal action against Stanley Ontop if Stanley failed to comply with the demands outlined in the petition.
Get the said Mr Stanley Chibueze Ajemba, popularly known as Stanleyontop, to issue a written apology within 7 days, and to retract and take down all such previous defamatory/libellous publications targeting our client. In the event of non-compliance, we shall resort to every legal remedy available to our client. While anticipating your swift and professional intervention on this critical matter, please accept the assurances of our highest professional regards.

Stanley Ontop reacts
Responding to Leonard’s petition, Stanley Ontop took to his Instagram page on Monday to declare that he was prepared to honour any police invitation.
He further stated that he was ready to meet Leonard in court, adding pointedly that Leonard should have petitioned his “manhood” instead of directing the complaint at him.
