Social media sensation Martins Vincent Otse, known as Very Dark Man or VDM, has reacted to the biopic Ratel Gang (VDM), shot in his honour.
Directed by Chukwuebuka Onuma and starring Gentle Jack, Moses Imohio and others, the film was released last Thursday on YouTube and has garnered thousands of views.

On Monday, VDM took to his Instagram page to react to the movie, saying emphatically that he has a problem with it.
Although he thanked the actors and producers for deeming him worthy of a movie about his life, VDM said he cringed while watching it.

Gentle Jack
In an eight-minute video on his Instagram page, the controversial activist said he has a problem with Gentle Jack, who played his character.
“You are a legend. Not just a legend, you are a senior brother. There’s no way that Gentle Jack will send a message, and I will respond within less than 30 minutes if I see it. There’s absolutely no way.
“Baba Gentle Jack has that power, so he should have asked me, VDM, what is your story? I want to play your story and would have told him everything he needs to know about me,” VDM said.
He stated that he was not interested in whatever money the producers made from the film, and he described the film as a caricature of his and singer Kokopee’s personalities.
VVDM put his friendship with the singer in the proper context, stating that they met through another musician, Phyno’s manager when Kokopee was trying to promote his music.
According to VDM, he promised to help the artiste out, seeing that he has a large social media following.
“If Gentle Jack had called me, I would have given him the summary. I would have given him a full breakdown of how we met, all I told him, where he is now and where he’s going tomorrow. So th,is biopic does not sit well with me. But again, I don’t have a problem. I won’t sue anybody,” he added.
Ratel Gang
Ratel Gang (VDM) is a biographical film inspired by the controversial internet personality Very Dark Man, who gained social media prominence when he started.
PREMIUM TIMES reviewed it on Saturday and described it as a laughable film that should never have happened. What made it more baffling was the casting of Nollywood veteran Gentle Jack, 54, as the lead in a movie about a man 23 years his junior.
From there, he moved on to more controversial activities, such as tackling politicians, law enforcement officers, entertainers, and generally anybody considered errant.
The movie title, ‘Ratel Gang (VDM)’, refers to VDM’s followers, who dubbed themselves Ratels.
It chronicles his life from making sex-themed videos while scraping to his rise as a social media sensation and his controversial activities.
