Mr Bello publicly slapped a journalist in Osogbo last Friday.

Mr Bello said he slapped the journalist because he "drove against traffic."

He said his reason for leaving the PDP was because the party has been allegedly hijacked.

"It is my sincere belief that some elements have hijacked the rudders of the ship of the party.”

The party says it will provide level-playing field for all aspirants to test their popularity
