Brighton & Hove Albion Women have announced the signing of Nigerian international goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie.
The move marks a major boost for the Women’s Super League side ahead of the new season.

The 24-year-old shot-stopper will officially join the Seagulls on 1 July following the expiration of her contract with French club Paris FC.
The club confirmed the deal is subject to the usual regulatory approvals.

She has competed at the highest level, with valuable experience in a variety of cup competitions including the Champions League. We’re confident she’ll add both depth and drive to a squad already full of ambition as we continue to build for next season.”
Rich credentials
Nnadozie joins Albion after five stellar seasons in France, where she made 118 appearances for Paris FC.
Her time there was highlighted by a heroic display in the 2025 Coupe de France Féminine final, where she saved two penalties against Paris Saint-Germain to clinch the trophy for her team.
Between 2022 and 2025, she also featured 16 times in the UEFA Women’s Champions League, earning a reputation as one of the top goalkeepers in European women’s football.
In 2024, she made history by becoming the first African player to be named the UNFP Division 1 Féminine Goalkeeper of the Season.
She also won the D1 Arkema Best Goalkeeper of the Season and the UNFP Goalkeeper of the Season awards in the same year.
Before her move to Europe, Nnadozie played four seasons with Rivers Angels in Nigeria, where she won the Nigeria Women’s Premier League in 2019 and three Nigeria Women’s Cup titles.
Her outstanding performances earned her the IFFHS Africa’s Best Woman Goalkeeper award in 2019.
On the international stage, Nnadozie has risen through the ranks, representing Nigeria at the U-17 and U-20 levels before making her senior debut in April 2018 against France.

A back-to-back winner of CAF Women’s Goalkeeper of the Year Award, Nnadozie has since earned 55 caps for the Super Falcons, becoming one of Africa’s most respected goalkeepers.
Growing legacy
Her signing also continues Brighton’s growing legacy with Nigerian players. Prior to Nnadozie, Nigerian forward Ini-Abasi Umotong played for Brighton’s women’s team, joining from Oxford United in 2017.
Umotong scored eight goals in her debut season, helping the Seagulls finish second in the second tier before the club’s successful bid to join the WSL.
Brighton fans will hope Nnadozie can follow in those footsteps and make a strong impact in the English top flight.
With her mix of experience, accolades, and international pedigree, Chiamaka Nnadozie is set to bring both stability and star quality to Brighton’s goalkeeping.
