The Ojora family of Lagos has announced the death of its patriarch and business mogul, Adekunle Ojora, the Olori Omo Oba of Lagos, who died in the early hours of Wednesday. He was 93.
The family disclosed the passing in a statement signed by Toyin Ojora-Saraki, describing his death as a submission to the will of Almighty Allah.
“With total submission to the will of Almighty Allah (SWT), the Ojora family announces the passing of our beloved patriarch.
“We say Alhamdulilahi for a life well lived, and we comply with Allah’s words: ‘Surely, to Allah we belong, and to Him we will all return’ (Q2:156),” the statement read.

The family said the late businessman would be buried in Lagos in accordance with Islamic rites and appealed to members of the public to pray for the repose of his soul.
Mr Ojora was a prominent businessman and traditional title holder, serving as the Olori Omo Oba of Lagos. He was also the Lisa of Ife.
Born in 1932, he began his professional career as a journalist with the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) in the early 1950s. He later joined the United Africa Company (UAC) in 1962, where he rose to executive level.
From 1971, he served as chairman of the board of AGIP Nigeria Limited, a position he held until the company was acquired by Unipetrol in 2002.
During the 1970s, Mr Ojora also invested in several foreign firms operating in Nigeria, playing a notable role in the growth of private enterprise in the country.
He is survived by his wife, Erelu Ojuolape Ojora, as well as his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The family urged the public to join them in prayers, asking Allah to grant the deceased forgiveness and a place in Aljannah Firdaus.
