A woman, Amarachi Kalu, who was filmed being assaulted by a man, Agwu Ukpo, in Abia State, has urged the Nigeria Police Force to prosecute the 37-year-old suspect.
PREMIUM TIMES earlier reported how Mr Ukpo was filmed aggressively assaulting Ms Kalu inside an apartment in Aba, the commercial hub of the state.

This newspaper also reported that the police have arrested the suspect over the assault which happened in April.
A video clip of the assault surfaced online in June.

How it happened
Ms Kalu, the victim, narrated in a video interview how the incident happened.
The video interview was conducted and uploaded on Facebook by a human rights activist, Harrison Gwamnishu, on Monday.
In the clip, the victim said the issue began when Mr Ukpo, sometime ago, made advances at her which she declined even after the suspect promised to give her N50,000.
“I said no and told him that I am married,” she said.
Ms Kalu narrated that a few days later Mr Ukpo allegedly threw her newly cooked pot of soup inside a laundry basin.
The victim said although his brother, identified simply as Obinna, scolded the suspect, he ignored the brother.
She said the latest incident happened when she poured Mr Ukpo’s three-day-old leftover soup into the washing basin and washed the pot to cook her own food.
“But Obinna went and poured the soup back into the pot and told me not to let Ukpo make trouble,” she said in Pidgin English.
Ms Kalu said Mr Ukpo later began to shout at her, apparently after realising what happened.
She said the suspect accused her of being insulting and then threatened to beat her up before descending on her and pinning her down.
A video clip showed Mr Ukpo pinning the victim down while repeatedly and aggressively hitting her with his fists.

Ms Kalu said Mr Ukpo rebuffed all entreaties from neighbours and other witnesses to stop the assault.
“He was repeatedly hitting me in the back, head, chest and eyes. He hit me repeatedly until I became weak and motionless before he scaled the fence and ran away,” she recalled in Pidgin English.
Demand for justice
Ms Kalu appealed to the police in Abia to prosecute the suspect for the assault and compel him to pay for her medical treatment.
“I want the police to charge him and all the money my husband spent for my treatment refunded,” she said.
