Akwa United trio of Coach Paul Offor, Daniel Gothom and Aloysius Thankgod were honoured on Monday, 30 March at a colourful awards ceremony held in Abuja.
The event, organised under the NNL/Prostars/Spotlight Hub Monthly Award, took place at West Point Hotel, Zone 7 Wuse, with proceedings beginning at 11 a.m.

Coach Paul Offor, Daniel Gothom and goalkeeper Aloysius Thankgod flew into Abuja on Monday morning for the ceremony after helping Akwa United secure a 3–1 victory over Ekiti United on Matchday 16 of the Nigeria National League season.
Coach Offor was recognised as the NNL Best Coach for three consecutive months, December 2025, January 2026 and February 2026, following his impressive performance with the team.

Under his leadership, Akwa United currently sit top of Conference B with 32 points from 16 matches.
In the players’ category, Gothom won the Goal of the Month award for December 2025, while Thankgod was named Goalkeeper of the Month for January 2026.
Speaking shortly after receiving his award, Mr Offor expressed gratitude to everyone who contributed to the team’s success.

“I’m grateful to God for His blessings. I thank my players for their commitment and for believing in us, my coaching crew, and my backroom staff for their dedication and support,” Mr Offor said.
“I also appreciate the Akwa United management led by my chairman, Joseph Eno, for their support and for making this trip possible. I thank the NNL board for this great initiative. Winning this award motivates me to work harder.”
Akwa United will now look to build on this success as they aim to win their remaining two matches of the season to secure promotion back to the Nigeria Premier Football League.
