Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State has begun delivering another phase of Arise Compassionate Homes across 31 local government areas.
With a target to complete 400 homes across the 368 wards of the state before 2027, this is the last batch in the series of delivering the 205 homes completed within two years in office.

Presenting a tastefully furnished two-bedroom bungalow and a N500,000 business grant to a physically impaired man, Sunday Etim in Nda Nsit, Nsit Atai Local Government Area on Thursday, Mr Eno restated his commitment to uplifting the downtrodden.
The governor, who spoke through the Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs, Emem Ibanga, disclosed that six homes have been completed in Nsit Atai alone, with a promise to deliver more dividends of democracy to the people.

Ms Ibanga, who hails from Nsit Atai, used the opportunity to appreciate her kin for supporting Governor Eno since assuming office and called for continuous support for the governor until 2027 and beyond.
In a project overview, the Special Assistant to the Governor on Humanitarian Services, Nsikanabasi Umoekpo, described the governor as a compassionate leader whose projects have made a tangible difference in the people’s lives.
He described the Arise compassionate home as fully furnished, equipped with solar-powered amenities, 24 hours of electricity, and a detached kitchenette.

Earlier in his welcome remarks, the Chairperson of Nsit Atai, Tony Nyong, pledged continuous Support for Mr Eno and lauded the governor’s development strides in Nsit Atai, citing the Primary Health Centre, Odot-Ikot Uboh Road, Nsit Atai-Okobo dual carriageway, ongoing Ikot Essien Road, and Model Primary School, Ikot Akpabio.
On his part, the Personal Assistant to the Governor on Persons Living with Disabilities, Ubong Ikpe, described Governor Eno as an ‘apostle of inclusion,’ noting that under his administration, three persons living with disabilities have been appointed and over 3,000 have been enrolled in the ARISE Care Programme.
Responding, the visibly elated beneficiary of the compassionate home, Sunday Etim Obot, who had lived with his six children in a dilapidated thatched house under extremely difficult conditions, expressed gratitude to Mr Eno for the gesture and prayed for God’s unending blessings upon the governor and his family.
The event attracted several stakeholders, community leaders, and well-wishers from Nsit Atai and beyond.
