Katsina State Deputy Governor, Faruq Lawal Jobe, has requested admission and scholarship opportunities for the state’s students at Kuwait University in medicine, artificial intelligence, and petroleum engineering. Mr Jobe made the request during a visit to the University of Kuwait, where he proposed a partnership between the institution and Katsina State.
The deputy governor disclosed that Katsina currently has 68 students studying artificial intelligence and bio-economy in China, and 42 students studying medicine in Egypt. “We are eager to expand this programme and explore opportunities with Kuwait University. These fields are critical to our state’s development, and we believe Kuwait University’s expertise can help us achieve our goals,” Mr Jobe stated.

He described Kuwait University’s reputation for academic excellence as impressive, expressing confidence that Katsina students would benefit greatly from being part of the institution’s community. “We are committed to investing in our human capital, and we believe that education is key to unlocking the potential of our young people,” the deputy governor said.
Mr Jobe equally emphasized that the partnership would be mutually beneficial, with Katsina students gaining world-class education while Kuwait University benefits from the diversity and talent they bring. He called for consideration of admission slots and scholarship packages for Katsina students in the three strategic fields. The deputy governor expressed optimism that the partnership would become a reality, pledging to explore ways to strengthen collaboration between both institutions.
