Katsina State Governor, and the Chairman Northwest Govenors’ Forum, Dikko Umaru Radda, has expressed immense pride and felicitation following the appointment Farouk Gumel, as the inaugural Chairperson, Board of Directors of the new Botswana Sovereign Wealth Fund Limited (BSWF).
The appointment which recognises Mr Gumel’s exceptional expertise in sovereign wealth management and capital markets, was announced by the President of Botswana, Advocate Duma Gideon Boko.

“This appointment exemplifies the international recognition of Nigerian expertise and specifically validates the calibre of professionals Northwest has contributed to national and global development,” the Governor stated.
Mr Radda expressed confidence that Gumel’s proven track record at the NSIA, combined with his deep understanding of capital markets and manufacturing, will be instrumental in establishing the Botswana Sovereign Wealth Fund as a model institution in Africa.

The Governor, on behalf of the Northwest Governors Forum, wished Mr Gumel success in his new international role while charging him to continue serving as a distinguished ambassador of Jigawa State and Nigeria in the global arena.
