Governor Alex Otti of Abia State has reassured that security occupies an important place in his administration, and that he will not compromise on security issues.
Mr Otti, who gave the reassurance while speaking on Thursday, 11 September, at the Aba stakeholders Security Trust Fund Raising Luncheon held at the Aba Sports Club, made it clear that his government recognises security as the bedrock of development and thus would continue to prioritise it.

The governor used the forum to express appreciation to Abians, friends of Abia and the Aba business community for their support for the new Abia project. He promised that he would not take the support for granted, as every donation will be accounted for.

He urged Abians to ignore the unfounded propaganda of mismanagement of funds, assuring that Abia resources under him are safe and well managed for public use.
He used the opportunity to disclose once again that the Abia State Government had signed an agreement with Radisson Blu, and that work would soon begin at the Enyimba Hotel project.
He also announced that President Bola Tinubu would commission the newly reconstructed Port Harcourt Road in Aba on 3 October, alongside six other roads.
Governor Otti enjoined Abia residents to be part of the ongoing continuous voter registration exercise nationwide, noting that such would allow residents to be part of the 2027 general elections.
Earlier in his address, the chairperson on the occasion, Leo Okoye, thanked Governor Otti for his achievements in road infrastructure, security, and the revamping of water schemes, among others. He stressed the need for all to support the governor’s works across the state.
In their speeches, other members of the Aba business community and stakeholders, including Ide John Udeagbala, Mazi Jude Nwosu, representative of Owelle Greg Okafor, among others, commended Governor Otti for restoring the lost glory of Aba.
The members of the business community explained that they and other stakeholders put together the event to support the governor’s strides in security, as the Aba business community “was not fully represented” at Umuahia when the first security trust fund luncheon took place in July this year.
