An 82-year-old resident of Esa-Odo, Moses Olufemi, on Saturday cast his ballot at the Esa-Odo Apostolic Primary School polling unit, PU 001, Ward 09, in Obokun Local Government Area of Osun State.
Mr Olufemi, who spoke with PREMIUM TIMES at the polling unit, said the voting process had been seamless, despite the early morning turnout.

He said he came out to vote to fulfil his civic responsibility.
“It’s my civic right to do, if I don’t do it, I am cheating myself,” the octogenarian said.

Mr Olufemi also urged the Osun State Government to continue to fulfil its responsibilities to citizens, noting that residents had turned out to exercise their civic rights.
Voting commenced at about 8:30 a.m. at the polling unit as voters queued to cast their ballots.
Earlier, Bello Oluwatoye, an assistant presiding officer of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) at the polling unit, addressed voters in the queue shortly after voting commenced.
Mr Oluwatoye urged voters to allow elderly persons to cast their ballots first so they could return home early.
The polling unit has 822 registered voters, while security officials were also deployed to maintain order and ensure a peaceful voting process.
