The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has fixed 19 September for the conduct of five by-elections in four states: Gombe, Kano, Bauchi and Delta.
The Chief Press Secretary to the INEC Chairman, Tunde Oketola, disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday in Abuja.
Mr Oketola said that the by-elections comprised one federal and four state constituencies.
According to him, the by-elections will take place at the Gombe/Kwami/Funakaye Federal Constituency in Gombe, while the state constituencies shall take place at the Disina and Sakwa State Constituencies in Bauchi State; and at Udu and Dawakin Kudu in the Delta and Kano State Constituencies, respectively.

The seats became vacant for different reasons.
INEC has scheduled the general election for early next year.

While the presidential and National Assembly elections hold on 16 January 2027, the governorship and State Houses of Assembly elections take place on 6 February 2027.
Winners of the 2027 elections will be inaugurated on 29 May.
