Governor Ademola Adekeke’s Accord Party recorded a decisive victory at the polling unit of Pelumi Olajengbesi, spokesperson for the Imole Campaign Council, in Saturday’s governorhip election.
The council is the pre-eminent body coordinating the campaigns for Governor Adeleke’s second term bid.

At PU004, St Matthew Primary School B, Ijebu-Jesa, Ward 03, Oriade Local Government Area, where Mr Olagengbesi voted, Accord polled 287 votes, while the All Progressives Congress (APC) secured 87 votes.
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) received two votes at the polling unit.

Mr Olajengbesi has been highly vocal in his support for Mr Adeleke’s second-term bid.

In the last few days, he has led campaigns to hold serving senator Francis Fadahunsi, an APC member representing Osun East in the National Assembly accountable for his widely reported remarks calling for the killing of Accord Party supporters.
Petitions
Earlier in the election campaign, Mr Olajengbesi alleged that some supporters of Governor Adeleke were arrested without justification and transferred to the Force Headquarters in Abuja.
On 3 August, the Imole Campaign Council petitioned the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), demanding the unconditional release of the supporters it said had been arrested and detained by the police.
Mr Adeleke faces 14 other candidates, including APC’s Bola Oyebamiji and ADC’s Najeem Salaam, in Saturday’s election.
