#OsunDecides2026: APC deputy gov candidate says voters’ turnout is impressive

The deputy governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the ongoing Osun State governorship election, Kayode Adereti, celebrated voter turnout after casting his vote on Saturday.

Mr Adereti cast his vote at Ward 11, Unit 3, Ilare, in Ife Central Local Government Area of the state.

“The turnout is impressive,” he said.

He emphasised that voters turned out in large number to exercise their civic responsibility.

Mr Adereti, who is the running mate of Bola Oyebimiji, the APC governorship candidate, also said the election has been peaceful and “security perfect.”

But reports of chaos and violence disrupting the voting process have been reported in some parts of the state.

At a different polling unit in the local government, violence erupted over allegations of vote-buying, forcing both INEC officials and residents to flee.

Mr Adereti also commended the security arrangements and the smooth operation of the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) machines during the poll.

“The BVAS is working well, and everyone is happy here,” he said.

He further added that voters are satisfied with how the election was conducted.

“I urge the people of Osun State to come out and vote. We are ready, and the people are ready to make Osun a better place,” he said.
