The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has commenced membership registration and revalidation exercise in Anambra State.
The ADC inaugurated the exercise in Awka on Saturday with stalwarts of the party in the state in attendance.

Speaking at the event, Peter Obi, a former governor of Anambra and the 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, called on Nigerians to participate actively in the political process to ensure responsible leadership and transparency in governance.
“I urged all opposition parties to come together in the determination to confront and end bad governance. The forthcoming election in 2027 will not merely be a contest between political parties; it will be a defining choice between the Nigerian people and bad governance,” Mr Obi later stated on X, while informing his followers on the micro-blogging site about the ADC membership registration in Anambra.

“Following the flag-off ceremony in Awka, we moved to Agulu, where I personally completed my membership validation and encouraged others to follow suit.
“Our message is simple, meaningful change begins with participation,” he added.
In his part, John Nwosu, a former governorship candidate of the ADC in Anambra, said the membership registration and revalidation exercise was a critical step toward strengthening the party’s grassroots structure and preparing the ADC for future political contests.
Mr Nwosu called on existing and prospective members of the ADC across Anambra to participate in the registration and revalidation process.

“Our singular mission is to make Peter Obi the President of Nigeria,” he said.
Other stakeholders of the ADC at the event were Victor Umeh, the senator representing Anambra Central Senatorial District, Tony Nwoye, the senator representing Anambra South Senatorial District and Oseloka H. Obaze, former secretary to the Anambra State Government.
Five members of the House of Representatives, six members of the state houses of assembly were also at the event.
