A heated exchange has broken out online between Nollywood actress Rita Edochie and her colleague Nneoma Ukpabi over allegations of indecent dressing, with both entertainers trading words and revealing personal grievances.
PREMIUM TIMES gathered that the dispute began on Sunday after Edochie posted a video on her Instagram page showing Ukpabi at the wedding of a fellow actress, Ruby Ojiakor, accusing her of dressing indecently.

Edochie criticised Ukpabi’s outfit and reiterated her stance on the importance of decency, urging the promotion of modest dressing within society.
In response, Ukpabi, clearly displeased with Edochie’s remarks, posted a video on her Instagram page warning the actress against damaging her reputation.

She issued a stern final warning to Edochie, adding that her attire and conduct were not Edochie’s concern and that the actress should tread carefully.
Ukpabi said, “If anybody in this world should advise me, it’s not you, Rita. You and I know we haven’t been on speaking terms for over eight years, and the reasons are known to both of us. If you don’t want us to wash our dirty laundry in public on this internet space, avoid me because you won’t like what you’ll see. Remove my name from your gutter mouth because you won’t like what’s coming. You’re not among the women I respect in this industry.
“You’re not even close, because I know who you are, if no one else does. And you know I don’t tolerate your nonsense. This is the last warning, I don’t want to hear my name in your miserable mouth. Let’s respect each other’s space. You built your page by trolling people, but you can’t try that with me because I won’t accept it. Once I hear my name from your mouth again or see it on your page, we’ll come out and say what people need to know. And that thing you want, I’ll give it to you.”

Meanwhile, in response to Ukpabi’s threat, Edochie disclosed that their relationship broke down because she (Ukpabi) could not tolerate the constant advice she was offering her.
She further stated that maintaining a close relationship with the actress would damage her reputation, as Ukpabi’s level of indecency is unmatched.
Revealing how Ukpabi begged her to keep his secret, she said, “The truth doesn’t always go down well with people who are recalcitrant to advice and corrections. I was the chairman of the probe panel committee in Imo State, constituted by AGN. You kept calling and pleading with me to help cover you up and save your arse to prevent hampering your pursuit to become the AGN Chairman for a second tenure because you embezzled their millions. I said no! I presented your records as dirty as they were.
“Then you saw me as an enemy, which I care less about. As the rogue you are, you paid your way through and became the Chairman of AGN, Imo State Chapter. Nneoma Ukpabi, what do you think you must say about my personality? I am way too decent for every jargon that can come out of your mouth. The only thing you can do is cook up lies to take turns on yourself. The video of your indecency I posted was already going viral. Bloggers and a few content creators had to help you share your nakedness”, she said.
She added that she posted the actress’s inappropriate video to reveal her misconduct and lack of responsibility to the public, noting that ‘reposting it on my page to correct an impression shouldn’t be a problem. People need to feed their eyes, which you wanted.’
“Talking about using you to grow my page is laughable. I still don’t understand why I should do that. You lack media visibility. You’re not even recognised in this media space. Your followership is nothing to write about; it is inorganic and purchased. You’re not up to my feet as far as this industry is concerned. So I’m still wondering how influential you think you can be to my page. You must be very delusional to have made such a statement.
“Mneoma Ukpabi, I told you again that you’ve got nothing on me. I have clean records, and they are visible enough. The truth was that your outfit for Ruby’s wedding was irresponsible and indecent. I am saying it repeatedly: You are a bad influence and should not be mingled with.”
As of press time, the Imo State Chapter of the AGN hasn’t responded to the allegation Edochie levelled against Ukpabi or had the actress react to Edochie.
