The management and legal team of Nigerian dancer and entertainer Iweh Pascal Odinaka, popularly known as Poco Lee, have urged the public to refrain from spreading unverified claims about the entertainer’s legal proceedings in the United Kingdom.
PREMIUM TIMES reported that Poco Lee is reportedly being held on remand in the United Kingdom and is scheduled to appear before Snaresbrook Crown Court in London on 15 September 2026, at 10 a.m.

The team, in a statement issued on Tuesday, and dated 25 August, 2026, specifically denied reports linking the case to alleged “drink spiking”, saying the claim does not form part of the allegations or charges before the UK court.
The statement, signed by Adedoyin Faleye on behalf of Poco Lee’s management, comes amid growing public discussion surrounding the entertainer’s reported detention and forthcoming court appearance in London.

“We are particularly concerned by the volume of unverified narratives currently circulating, including claims referencing ‘drink spiking,’ amongst other allegations which do not form part of any of the allegations or charges before the court,” the team said.
It urged the media and members of the public to avoid including details not contained in the actual case, warning that such reports could fuel misinformation and create unfair prejudice against those involved.
Calls for restraint
According to the management, the matter is already before the UK courts and should therefore be allowed to proceed through the appropriate legal process.

“Allegations are not evidence of guilt, and no conclusions should be drawn until the matter has been heard and determined through the appropriate legal process,” the statement read.
The team also stressed that every individual is entitled to a fair hearing and that the outcome of a legal matter should be determined by due process rather than public opinion.
It said that further information would be provided through official channels when appropriate, and thanked members of the public for their understanding and restraint.
Poco Lee’s court appearance
The hearing is listed as a plea and trial preparation hearing, where the court is expected to consider the defendant’s plea and make arrangements for the next stage of the case.
His detention was confirmed on Monday by Benjamin Kuti, popularly known as the Oluomo of Derby and founder of the Community of Nigerians in the United Kingdom. Kuti said he planned to attend the proceedings in support of Poco Lee and urged the public to allow the legal process to take its course.
BBC News Pidgin later reported that the court had confirmed Poco Lee’s 15 September appearance. However, details of the specific charge against him have not been fully disclosed publicly.
Reports of his alleged detention began circulating on Nigerian social media between 18 and 19 August, with some early reports linking the matter to an alleged rape or sexual offence. A case under the name Iweh Odinaka was subsequently identified at Snaresbrook Crown Court, while reports indicated that a bail application was heard on 21 August.

Separately, Texas-based Nigerian rapper Jorji alleged that Poco Lee attempted to sexually assault her and a female friend during an incident in Dallas in 2024. She claimed they visited his apartment seeking music mentorship before he allegedly made unwanted advances. Poco Lee has not publicly responded to the allegation.
There is no verified information linking Jorji’s allegation to the UK proceedings, and the two matters should be treated separately.
Poco Lee rose to prominence through Nigerian street dance, particularly Zanku and Legwork, before establishing himself as a hypeman and entertainer. He has worked with artistes including Davido, Wizkid, Burna Boy, Zlatan Ibile and Tiwa Savage.
He is due back in court in September, when further details about the case may emerge.
