‘I’m definitely not finding any woman, ever’ — Frank Edoho

Veteran television host Frank Edoho has ruled out finding another partner, saying he has discovered a “superpower” in being alone.

The 54-year-old made the declaration on X in response to reactions to his appearance at the wedding of content creators Peller and Jarvis, where he declined to offer the newlyweds marital advice.

When asked during the ceremony to advise the couple, Edoho questioned his suitability for the task and chose instead to offer them his good wishes.

“You’re asking me, who knows nothing about marriage, to advise the couple? I am going to give my wishes instead.

“I wish Peller the happiest of lives, the best of blessings and the utmost of peace,” he said.

His response prompted an X userX user to praise him for declining to give marital advice, while suggesting that his experiences with marriage could make Nigerians reluctant to accept his advice.

The user also expressed hope that Edoho would eventually meet a woman who would show him “true love”.

Edoho agreed with much of the user’s comment but rejected the suggestion that another relationship was in his future.

“How wise of you. You are absolutely right about everything but that last part.

“There’s a superpower that comes with being alone, and it’s beautiful. I’m definitely not finding any woman. Not ever,” he wrote.

His declaration generated reactions online, with some social media users linking it to his previous comments about marriage and relationships.

‘Never getting committed again’

The television personality’s latest statement is not the first time he has publicly ruled out another relationship.

In May, when asked about his relationship status, Edoho said he was single and had no intention of committing to another relationship.

“Yes. I have had my share. Never getting committed again. Ever,” he said.

He also said during an appearance on the Tea With Tay podcast that “maybe” he was not good at marriage.

The broadcaster has spoken about the emotional impact of his failed relationships and his decision to prioritise his personal peace.

Two marriages

Edoho was previously married to broadcaster and actress Katherine Obiang, with whom he has three children.

The marriage, which began in the early 2000s, ended after about seven years. Edoho has previously described the relationship as a mismatch and acknowledged that he was young when he got married.

The separation later became controversial, with Ms Obiang making allegations of physical abuse, which Edoho denied.

Edoho subsequently married Sandra Onyenucheya, an interior designer associated with Vivabella Designs, around 2013. They had two children together, bringing the broadcaster’s total to five children from both marriages.

He later said the marriage effectively ended in December 2022 and confirmed that they were undergoing divorce proceedings, describing the experience as devastating and saying he dealt with much of the pain privately.

The breakdown of the marriage subsequently became public, with Edoho and Sandra making allegations and counter-allegations concerning infidelity and other circumstances surrounding their separation.

Edoho alleged that his former wife had an affair with singer Chike, while Sandra disputed his account and levelled her own allegations against him, including claims concerning infidelity, emotional abuse and financial disagreements.

Both parties have disputed aspects of the other’s account.

Broadcasting career

Born in Kano, Edoho studied Animal Science at the University of Calabar before beginning his broadcasting career.

He later moved to Lagos and rose to national prominence as the host of the Nigerian edition of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? in 2004.

He hosted the game show for 13 years, becoming known for his calm presentation style, wit and the programme’s signature question, “Is that your final answer?”

After leaving the show in 2017, he later hosted The Price Is Right Nigeria and returned to Who Wants to Be a Millionaire when the programme was revived in 2022.
