Nigerian singer and record producer Augustine Kelechi, better known as Tekno, has been named ambassador of gaming and entertainment company, BetPawa.
This comes after BetPawa donated N500 million to the Nigeria National League as part of its efforts to expand into football gaming.
The announcement was made at an unveiling ceremony at Balmoral Hall, Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos, on Tuesday.
Known for smash hits like ‘Pana’, ‘Duro’, and ‘Skeletun’, the singer is stepping into a fresh role that will see him front nationwide campaigns blending music, lifestyle, and entertainment.

The partnership also signals betPawa’s intent to tap into Nigeria’s vibrant youth culture by pairing the energy of Afro-pop with the thrill of gaming.
Partnership
At the unveiling ceremony, the ‘Diana’ hitmaker described the partnership as a perfect match, noting that both parties share the drive to push boundaries.
“I’ve always been about breaking boundaries and inspiring people. betPawa is doing the same in its space, creating opportunities and celebrating winners. Together, we’re going to give fans something exciting to look forward to,” Augustine said.
Also, reflecting on the company’s deal with Augustine, Borah Ndanyungu, betPawa’s Head of Local Marketing and CSR, said the partnership is essential as the singer’s music connects with millions of gaming and football fans.
“Tekno represents everything we stand for: energy, creativity, and passion. His music connects with millions across Africa, just as football and gaming do. We’re proud to welcome him to the family.”
The event drew fans, influencers, and industry figures, with Tekno’s appearance sparking the kind of buzz only he can deliver.
Guests were treated to a first taste of campaigns that will merge gaming with Afro-pop’s bold rhythms, promising a new wave of youth-driven experiences.
