Africa Magic has announced August 31 as the premiere date for ‘Hello Future Me’, the sequel to its 2025 romantic drama series, Dear Future Me.
The 26-episode series will premiere at 9 p.m.

‘Hello Future Me’ will stream in West Africa Time on Africa Magic Showcase, available on DStv Channel 151 and GOtv Channel 8, with new episodes scheduled to air Monday to Friday.
The series will also be available on DStv Stream and GOtv Stream, expanding access to viewers following the story beyond traditional pay-TV platforms.

Hello Future Me
‘Hello Future Me’ picks up from the events of ‘Dear Future Me’7, which centred on Boma, played by Femi Adekanye, and Dayo, portrayed by Ruby Agwu, as they attempted to overcome past betrayals and rebuild their relationship. Their complicated history also affected their children, Adele, played by Ejiroghene Asagba, and Banky, portrayed by Johnson Ibeh.
While the first series focused largely on healing the wounds of the past, the sequel turns its attention to the uncertainties of the future and the difficult choices that follow when carefully made plans collapse.
In the new series, Adele’s ambition to study abroad is disrupted by financial difficulties, forcing her to return to Nigeria and move into her father’s newly blended household.
Her return creates an uncomfortable situation, particularly because she must now live with Dayo, her father’s wife and stepmother, and Banky, her former love interest, who has become her stepbrother.
Reason behind the sequel
Atinuke Babatunde, the executive head, content and channels, West Africa, MultiChoice Nigeria, said the sequel was developed in response to the reception of Dear Future Me.
“Following the strong response to Dear Future Me, we’re excited to bring viewers the next chapter with Hello Future Me,” she said.
Mrs Babatunde said Africa Magic was continuing to invest in original productions that tell relatable Nigerian stories while exploring emotional and social realities familiar to its audience.
“As we continue to expand Africa Magic’s slate of original productions, we’re intentional about backing stories that are relatable, emotionally grounded and unmistakably Nigerian,” she said.
“Hello Future Me captures the complexities of family, love and ambition in a way we know will resonate with audiences.”
The sequel combines romance, humour and family drama while examining themes including identity, resilience, ambition, sacrifice, second chances and the unpredictability of life.
More than just a sequel
According to the series’s executive producers, Adeniyi Omobulejo and Allen Onyige, it examines the consequences of navigating a future that does not conform to expectations.

Also, the characters are older and their circumstances more complicated, forcing them to reconsider dreams and ambitions that have not unfolded as planned.
The 26-episode romantic drama features Agwu, Adekanye, Ibeh, Asagba and Patience Ene Ujah among its cast.
With its continuation of an established storyline and its focus on contemporary family and relationship struggles, ‘Hello Future Me’ is positioned as one of Africa Magic’s latest original drama offerings, as the platform continues to build its library of locally produced series for Nigerian and African audiences.
