The Nigeria international delivered another assured performance in midfield, playing a pivotal role as Álvaro Arbeloa’s side wrapped up their preparations for the new campaign with a morale-boosting comeback win.

Fulham found themselves trailing at the interval after Farense struck first in the opening half, forcing the Premier League side to mount a response after the restart.
Their breakthrough arrived when Emile Smith Rowe was brought down inside the penalty area, with Iwobi confidently stepping up to take responsibility from the spot.

The Super Eagles star made no mistake, calmly sending the goalkeeper the wrong way before drilling his penalty into the corner to draw Fulham level and swing the momentum in his side’s favour.
Buoyed by the equaliser, Fulham dominated the closing stages as they searched for a winner, and their persistence was rewarded in dramatic fashion just before full-time.
In the 89th minute, Josh King was fouled inside the penalty area to hand the Cottagers another spot-kick. Brazilian forward Rodrigo Muniz converted with confidence, firing into the same corner as Iwobi to complete the turnaround and seal victory for the Premier League club.
The result capped an encouraging pre-season for Fulham ahead of the 2026/27 campaign, with Iwobi once again underlining his importance to the team.

The Nigerian midfielder enjoyed another impressive season last term, registering four goals and three assists in 29 Premier League appearances while establishing himself as one of Fulham’s most reliable performers, despite the club narrowly missing out on European qualification.
Having carried his impressive form into pre-season, Iwobi will now be aiming to maintain that momentum when Fulham begin their 2026/27 Premier League campaign, as he looks to play an even bigger role in the club’s push for a return to European football.
