The senator added that they appeared before the committee on 13 November and presented their CCB clearances, police reports, DSS vetting documents and curriculum vitae.

He urged his colleagues to support their confirmation.

The Senate Leader, Opeyemi Bamidele, then moved a motion for the Senate to dissolve into the Committee of the Whole to consider the nominees.

The Deputy Minority Leader, Oyewunmi Olalere, who represents Osun West, said he was familiar with three of the nominees, including the chairman, noting that they all possess strong local and international qualifications.

“I rise to support their nomination. From their résumé, they have held different positions both locally and internationally, and I hereby thank Mr President for finding them worthy for nomination,” he said.

After the consideration at the Committee of the Whole, the Senate returned to plenary where Mr Akpabio put the confirmation to a final vote.
