Barely three months after the marriage between America-based entrepreneur and mental health nurse, Olayinka “Yinka Theisen” Ajakaiye, and actor Linc Edochie collapsed, she has spoken out on why the union ended.
PREMIUM TIMES earlier reported that Ms Theisen, daughter of the late Nigerian diplomat, Andrew Ajakaiye, and Linc, one of the sons of veteran actor Pete Edochie, got engaged in May.

However, by June, the union ended amid controversies allegedly fuelled by supporters of May, the estranged wife of Linc’s younger brother, the controversial actor Yul Edochie.
In July, this newspaper reported that Ms Theisen made a U-turn just two weeks after announcing their separation.

She apologised to Linc, admitted her shortcomings, and described him as a kind and remarkable man.
Nevertheless, in a series of Facebook posts on Wednesday, Ms Theisen disclosed several issues that contributed to the collapse of her marriage to Linc.
Opening up, she said, “I intend to make a video soon and explain a few things about Lincoln Edochie and me. I hope that after this, everyone will keep their mouths shut. Linc is not Yinka, and Yinka is not Linc. We have very different ways of looking and doing things. Our issue is not a lack of love. We both love each other. It is about compatibility and understanding. The man who will love me is not the kind who wants a mouse for a wife.
“Certainly not the kind of man who wants me to get off social media. I respect Linc and any man I am with. I have refrained from saying a lot because I respected him. While I respect my man, I am not stupid and not a pushover—enough of the madness. If you support Mrs Mary Yul Edochie, do so. I proudly support Yul and Judy! I have my reasons and don’t owe anyone an explanation for this. Linc and I have forgiven each other. We may not make it as a couple, but that too is okay.”

Furthermore, Ms Theisen revealed that Linc made her withdrawal from social media a condition for rekindling their relationship.
She also posted a screenshot of a WhatsApp conversation where Linc insisted she leave social media for their union to succeed.
She noted, “Should I leave social media for three years? Absolutely not! This is from Linc Edochie. I will tell my story since you guys keep writing silly things about me. I am sick and tired of people who don’t understand and write silly things about me. This started a couple of weeks ago.”
Also, Ms Theisen hinted that financial challenges were another major factor preventing their union from progressing.
She explained that while marriage and relationships are valuable, no man should view them as an opportunity to turn a woman into a slave.
She emphasised that she and Linc are fundamentally different and were raised in contrasting ways, noting that she grew up in a home where her mother had a voice.
“My grandmother had a voice. In relationships, a woman should not take advantage of the fact that her man has no money and disrespect him. The man, too, should not make the woman walk on eggshells. When a man has a chip on his shoulder, it is always disastrous.
“He feels the need to control everything. I spoke to a friend yesterday who reiterated that a man not doing well financially can never do well in a relationship. That is sad, especially when a woman is willing to work with him. Money is not everything, Ms Theisen added.
Sex
Moreover, Ms Theisen highlighted Linc’s sexual life as another significant setback.
“At a certain age, most people don’t care about sex in a relationship. Most people will tolerate bad sex for companionship & kindness. Most women will “fake it” to please their partner.
“Some are even saying it is about the sex. Please have sex with Linc and rate it. Enough of the insults! All the Igbo women should have sex with him and rate him. Better still, I ask Amaka, his ex. Stop insulting me”, she said.
Ms Thiessen’s revelation came two weeks after May issued legal threats against her over allegations of cyberstalking, cyberbullying, and the publication of defamatory statements.
May demanded immediate public apologies, a full retraction of all derogatory remarks, and damages amounting to N500 million from Ms Thiessen.
