In a sport where Nigeria is still finding its footing globally, young swimmer Eriaseoluwa Teriba has emerged as a symbol of hope and progress.
The CitySports Africa athlete recently represented Nigeria at the SC Swimming Cup series, held at the Hamdan Sports Complex in Dubai—one of the world’s top swimming venues.

She was the only Nigerian at the event, proudly flying the country’s flag in a tough international field.
Eriase competed in the “8 & Above” category, just before her eighth birthday, making her one of the youngest swimmers at the championship.

She is trained by Coach Kola Ogunsemore, a certified coach with the Nigeria Aquatics Federation.
Eriase’s journey is the result of dedicated efforts by CitySports AfricaDespite her age and limited international experience, Eriase gave a strong performance that turned heads.
Her participation alone marked a major step forward for Nigeria’s swimming ambitions.

Eriase’s journey is the result of dedicated efforts by CitySports Africa, one of Nigeria’s leading sports academies under Arca.
The academy focuses on early talent discovery, structured training, and exposure to international competitions—especially in under-supported sports like swimming.
That strategy is already showing results.
At the National Youth Sports Festival in Asaba, Delta State, three swimmers from CitySports Africa won seven medals (gold and silver), confirming the growing strength of the program.

In a further move to support young athletes, CitySports Africa has announced plans to open a swimming development center in Dubai, which will give African swimmers regular access to world-class facilities and competition.
Swimming remains a challenging sport in Nigeria due to lack of infrastructure, funding, and exposure.
But with young athletes like Eriase Teriba breaking barriers and academies like CitySports investing in the future, Nigeria’s presence on the global swimming stage is beginning to grow.
