The police have arrested two suspects in the violent murder of social media influencier, Ibrahim Khalil, at his residence in Gaida Quarters, Kumbotso Local Government Area of Kano State.
Mr Khalil, also known as Danshagamu, was attacked with sharp objects after hoodlums forced their way into his home on Monday at 11:30 p.m.
According to a press statement from the police command’s spokesperson, Abdullahi Kiyawa, officers from the Kumbotso Police Division responded after receiving a distress call from the commander of the quarters vigilante group.
“Upon arriving at the scene, police officers rushed the severely injured victim to the Murtala Mohammad Specialist Hospital in Kano for emergency medical care, where he was pronounced dead on arrival by the attending physician,” the police said.

He said an investigation later led to the arrest of the two suspects.
“The suspects are currently in custody undergoing interrogation,” Mr Kiyawa stated.

He said the police have intensified search efforts to track down the accomplices in the incident.
“The Kano State Police Command will not relent in its mandate to protect lives and property. We assure the good people of Kano that justice will be pursued to its logical conclusion,” the commissioner warned.
Meanwhile, he said the police have deployed patrol units and intelligence personnel throughout Gaida and adjacent communities to uphold public safety.
