The Accord Party governorship candidate and incumbent governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke, has secured the highest number of votes in his Local Government Area, Ede North, in Saturday’s governorship election.
The Ede North Local Government Area Collation Officer, Jacob Opele, announced the aggregate results at the LGA collation centre, declaring Mr Adeleke the winner.

Mr Adeleke, who is seeking re-election, polled 35,427 votes to defeat his closest challenger, Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who secured 10,283 votes.
The results from the 30 local government areas of Osun State are being announced at their respective LGA collation centres.

However, the results declared at the LGA collation centres remain subject to final approval by the INEC Returning Officer at the final collation centre in Osogbo, the state capital.
Results from all 30 LGAs are expected to be presented and collated at the Osogbo centre before the final result of the election is declared.
