Members of the labour unions and their affiliates commenced an indefinite national strike on Tuesday.
The TUC President, Festus Osifo, disclosed this while addressing journalists on Monday.
The action of the unions followed the attack of the NLC National President, Joe Ajaero, last week in Imo State.
The protesters are waving different placards to drive home their demands for an improved economy.
