The bill was earlier opposed by some senators, including Sani Yerima and Immanuel Bwacha.
The bill, which has continued to stoke widespread emotions amongst women, was introduced by Senator Biodun Olujimi.
The Bill should not be re-presented for promoting abrasive western liberation of women
The party's national woman leader, Kema Chikwe, appeals to the Senate to reconsider the bill.
“I have it on good authority that Sen. Biodun Olujimi, who introduced this bill, will reintroduce it after re-drafting it…”
