Super Falcons star, Asisat Oshoala, has expressed great delight at meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari and his entourage during his visit to China.

Oshoala who also had interactions with Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, lauded his support to the course of women and good governance in general.

“I must really commend my governor, Ambode he has really done a lot for sports in Lagos and in the area of good governance,” Oshoala said in her address.

“I am very happy with the ongoing transformation at the Onikan stadium, already, the Agege Stadium is now top notch, for me Gov. Ambode has made sure that Lagos state is the number one sports hub in Africa not only in Nigeria, in the area of infrastructure,” the reigning African footballer of the year further noted.

Oshoala who hails from Lagos said she is equally happy with the massive construction works ongoing in Abule Egba, Ojodu Berger, Lekki, Ajah and different locations across the state.

The former Arsenal and Liverpool forward who currently plays for Chinese side Dalian Quanjian F.C was at the Nigerian Embassy in Beijing where she also told President Buhari about her pet project.

The annual event that will happen in December and ably supported by the Lagos State Government through the Lagos sports commission led by Kweku Tandor is geared at helping young girls combine their sporting talents with football.

“Let me also bring to your notice Mr. President, in December the Lagos state government and Sports Commission in collaboration with my foundation and the office of the First Lady of Lagos State will be having a girl child education and sports programme for the Nigerian girls, so am I must say Lagos is number one and I must commend the effort of my governor,” Oshoala said.
