Kano Pillars Basketball Club have zoomed into the semi-final of the ongoing 2016 FIBA Africa Champions Cup for men taking place in Cairo, Egypt.
The Nigeria flag bearers on Wednesday recorded a 91-81 victory over Algeria’s GSP, to advance into the semi final in style.
Interestingly, it was the Algerians who started as the stronger side; wining the first quarter 19-17; but the Nigerians buckled up and were in front 64-58 as at the end of the third quarter; before sealing the game in the fourth quarter with a 10-point gap.
The Nigerian champions will now face whoever emerges as winner in the game between Cameroon’s BEAC and Moroccan club, Association Sportive de Salé.
