World’s first Hijab-jersey unveiled on world’s Women Day

With the aid of ​a ​sports wear company, Hummel​,​ Afghanistan​’s​ female football team​ have taken delivery of the first set of jerseys with in-built hijabs.

The record​-breaking kit was unveiled on International Women’s Day as the first ever branded national strip to incorporate a hijab.

Daily Star UK quote​​d Hummel’s owner Christian Stadil​ as saying, “We don’t sponsor the biggest teams in the world, but we make partnerships with teams and clubs with a story to tell, like Afghanistan.

“We try to meet the Afghan people where they are, and right now that is by helping the women play football with or without a hijab.”
