Gateway FC declares player wanted

Gateway Football Club this weekend in Abeokuta,  declared one of its player Eyo Utom Abasi wanted.

Utom allegedly abandoned camp for weeks to an unknown destination.

The club media officer, Biodun Alabi, in a statement, said the footballer disappeared without the knowledge and approval of the management.

He noted that Utom was a regular member of the team until two weeks to the end of the national league season.

Mr. Alabi informed the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and all embassies that the player had not been issued any formal clearance or release.

The club management said the player is still under contract till December this year, adding that the authority will not hesitate to invoke the full consequence of any violation on any individual or club both home and abroad found liable in whatever form.
