Nigeria beat Rwanda 2-0

The Nigerian Super Eagles have qualified for the final round of the African Nations cup qualifiers after defeating the Rwandan national team by two goals to nothing.

The Eagles between the Rwandan’s after goals from two foreign based professionals: Ike Uche of Granada of Spain and Ahmed Musa of CSKA Moscow of Russia. Coach Stephen Keshi fielded a team made up of home based and foreign based professionals.

The game was a close encounter with the Nigerian team having 55% of the ball possession and the Rwandan’s 45%. Nigeria also had seven corner kicks to the Rwandan’s five.

The man of the match award was given to a home based player, Reuben Gabriel, who played in the defense for the Super Eagles. Gabriel went home with $5,000 courtesy Tom Tom, a product of Cadbury Nigeria plc.

The match was played in Calabar, the capital of Cross River state with the state governor, Liyel Imoke in attendance.
