Nigeria’s goalkeeper, Carl Ikeme, says he is recuperating from Leukaemia, an illness that has kept him away from action for more than a year.
The Wolverhampton Wanderers goal tender took to his Twitter handle @carl_Ikeme to share his good news.
“After a year of intense chemotherapy I would like to share that I am in complete REMISSION.
“I still have hurdles to pass to be cured, but hopefully I can move on with some normality.
“I would like to thank everyone for the support over the past year. Thank you.️ #Grateful,” he tweeted.
Ikeme is named Nigeria’s 24th player at the Russia 2018 World Cup.
