Nigeria Premier League Review: Sunshine, Shooting Stars suffer home defeat

Shooting stars

Sunshine Stars and Shooting Stars of Ibadan both started the second half of the season in the Nigeria Professional Football League on a disappointing note.

While Sunshine Stars were beaten 1-0 by Lobi Stars it was worse for Shooting Stars who were beaten blue by FC Ifeanyi Ubah who secured a 3-0 win in Ibadan.

Enyimba International also secured a win away from home as the Peoples Elephant beat Remo Stars by a lone goal in Sagamu.

In Ilorin and Enugu, ABS FC and Enugu Rangers both secured hard-earned victories as they piped El-Kanemi Warriors and Gombe United 2-1 respectively.

In Kano, Pillars also secured a lone goal win over Niger Tornadoes but Kastina United were forced to a 1-1 draw by Plateau United.

For the first time this season, there were no goals to cheer as the MFM FC vs Akwa United game ended in a stalemate at the Agege Stadium.

Stephen Odey missed a penalty kick that could have given the Olukoya Boys victory in Sunday’s clash at the Agege Stadium.

On their part, Wikki Tourists were ruthless at home as they thrashed Abia Warriors 3-0
