The remains of late Shooting Stars defender, Izu Joseph, will be buried on December 3.
Shooting Stars FC shared the piece of information via their twitter handle on Monday.
The late player was shot dead by an unidentified member of the Joint military task force in Okaki, a sleepy border community between Rivers State and Bayelsa on October 16.
Izu was said to be holidaying in his home state after a hectic Nigeria Professional Football League season with the Oluyole Warriors when he was killed.
“The remains of Izu Joseph will be laid to rest on 3rd December, 2016. More details to follow. Still can’t believe this guy is gone!” Shooting Stars wrote on their official twitter handle @official3sc.
Officials of Shooting Stars have given their words that they would do all within their reach to make sure their former defender gets a befitting burial.
There are still questions marks around the death of Izu as claims by the JTF that the defender was shot in the midst of a cult clash have been continually faulted by the family and associates of the slain rising football star.
The Inspector General of Police, Idris Ibrahim, was recently invited to the House of Representatives to answer questions of extra-judicial killings including that of Izu.
