Nigerian youngster, Kelechi Iheanacho, was on target as Manchester City came from behind to secure a 1-1 draw against Southampton in Sunday’s Premier League tie at the Etihad Stadium.
City before Sunday’s encounter had gone four games without a win and they were desperate to turn the tide against Southampton.
However, things did not work well for Pep Guardiola team yet again as they found themselves trailing their host from the first half.
It took the intervention of Iheanacho for City to rescue a point as the 19-year old netted his third League goal this season in the 55th minute of Sunday’s encounter.
Recall that Ahmed Musa was also on target for Leicester City on Saturday and the good form of Nigerian players will be pleasing to the Super Eagles handlers.
Nigeria will face Algeria in the next set of games in the 2018 World Cup qualifiers.
