Abia Warriors and Heartland FC have given their survival hopes in the Nigeria Professional Football League, NPFL, a big boost.
The duo recorded home wins on Wednesday in their outstanding games against Enyimba FC and Niger Tornadoes.
While Warriors recorded a 3-1 win over City rivals, Enyimba in the Abia derby, the Naze Millionaires put up a flawless display; beating Niger Tornadoes 2-0 at the Dan Anyiam Stadium in Owerri.
With the win, Abia Warriors have jumped to 14th spot on the log with 44 points and two games left to be played.
It is still a dicey situation for Heartland who are 18th on the log with 40 points.
Meanwhile, there was another rescheduled game played in Kano where Pillars beat El-Kanemi by a lone goal.
