Super Eagles star, Ogenyi Onazi, has expressed appreciation to the Nigeria Police for keeping their word to arrest the hoodlums that attacked his family home in Jos during the Sallah celebrations.
Onazi via his official twitter handle @OnaziOgenyi on Thursday announced that the Police had caught up with the five robbers that attacked and carted away valuables from his house last Monday.
“The 5 armed robbers that robbed my family home In jos have been apprehended at Epe, Lagos. I really thank God almighty,” the first of the tweets from Onazi read.
The former Lazio of Italy star added: “Officially, I thank the DIG Abuja Mr Joshak Habila, CP Plateau state, AIG and CP Lagos state, and most importantly Mr Victor Ugoh.
“For the concern and support I got from everyone I am truly grateful….thank you so very much and God bless you all.
An earlier statement from one of Onazi’s aides on the robbery incident revealed that the bandits pretended to be courier men with a letter to be delivered to the player’s father.
Onazi’s father was tied, beaten up and machete cuts were also inflicted on him.
The robbers carted away valuables including a Toyota Highlander and some cash, while also threatening that Onazi would be their next target.
